The new Happy Joe’s Restaurant currently being built on North Henderson St. in Galesburg will see some major upgrades.
That’s according to Marketing Director and Owner Kristel Whitty-Ersan, who says she is uncertain on an exact opening date, however, the new building location is “making progress.”
Whitty-Ersan says she believes the local community will be thrilled when they see the new location. A new “tap room” will reportedly be added at the new location–which will include a number of large number of craft beers and televisions.
Whitty-Ersan says that upgrades are being done at various locations throughout Iowa and Illinois. She tells WGIL that the Galesburg location will see new additions..but will also retain features that helped it prosper in the first place.
“We’re still going to have our fun center, we’re going to have a full-fledged grill menu–which will be great,” says Ersan. “Our drive-up window is going to be extremely convenient, and decor on the inside is going to be beautiful and comfortable. I think Galesburg is just going to love it.”
Whitty-Ersan says the current location, just blocks away on Henderson St. is being leased through the city. She says “it was just time to make the upgrade.”
Whitty-Ersan says weather has been cooperating, and the build is going smoothly. The move is part of a corporate re-branding and engineering project taking place company wide.
