“Great Galesburg Shake” Students visit WGIL

Twelve finalists for the Great Galesburg Shake visited our studios Thursday (4/21). The Great Galesburg Shake is an opportunity for students in grades 4 through 12 to use their manners and conversational skills in a professional environment. Galesburg School District 205 has adopted the 12 Tools for Triumph to teach students how to give a proper handshake, use eye contact and present themselves in a professional environment.

After  students met with business professionals Wednesday morning, the top 25 students moved on on to a luncheon where they were scored on their social skills and etiquette. After that, the top 12 students met Wednesday afternoon with different community agencies to learn about what they do. Thursday, those 12 students recorded PSA’s at our studios.  More rounds will continue and the winner will be announced at Galesburg High School at 6 pm on April 27.
