Galesburg firefighters responded to a fire at a two-stall garage on Sweetbriar Place about a block from the Fremont Fire Station.
Just after 11 p.m. last night fire and emergency personnel responded to find a detached garage behind the house that was “heavily involved with flames coming through the roof” according to Fire Chief Tom Simkins.
Galesburg fire was able to knock down the flames in a few minutes.
While no injuries of any kind occurred two resident vehicles were lost and the house and the neighbor’s siding was damage from radiant heat.
Galesburg Police. GHAS and Ameren were on scene as well.
Investigators will look into the origin and cause of the blaze.
