Robert W. Curry, 65, of Oneida, Illinois passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at 8:25 P.M. at the OSF St Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.Robert was born June 4, 1952 in Newport News, Virginia, the son of John W. and Beverly J. (Gibbs) Curry. He attended the Victoria Grade School, graduated from the ROVA High School, and later graduated from Spoon River College with a diesel mechanic degree. He married Susan Elaine Collinson on March 30, 1972.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Elaine Curry of Oneida; four children, Rebecca A. Curry, Angela S. (Cesar) Jimenez, Marc R. Curry, Pauline J. (Zach) Asbury; four grandchildren, Elena Jimenez, Emma Jimenez, Thalia Jimenez, Waylon Asbury; and one great-grandchild, Dominic Curtis.
He loved farming, trail riding, hunting, and various shooting sports. He was a member of the National Muzzleloading Rifle Association, the Single Action Shooting Society, the National Rifle Association, and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
