Mrs. Constance J. “Connie” Lawrence, 74, of Galesburg, Illinois died 7:57 p.m. Monday, December 25, 2017 at Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg. She was born December 2, 1943 in Galesburg to William and Dorothy Jane Wallace Guenther. She married Alvin Hankins in 1962 in Galesburg. She later married Bob Carlson. She then married David Lawrence in 1996 in Galesburg. He survives.
Also surviving is a son, Alvin L. Hankins, Jr. of Kingman, Arizona, Deborah L. Johnson of Peoria, Illinois, a step daughter, Rochelle Wertz of Abingdon, Illinois, a sister Jean A. Corbin of Galesburg, three grandchildren, three step grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William H. Guenther, Jr.
Connie graduated from Galesburg High School in 1960. She owned Connie’s Ceramic Studio in Galesburg for several years. She later worked for Seminary Estates in Galesburg. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Galesburg Moose Lodge #880. Connie was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues. She liked angels and had a large collection of them. She loved her cats.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
