A Sunday night fire brought firefighters out to Carl Sandburg Drive to battle a vehicle fire.
Galesburg Police and Fire Department personnel responded to the AMC Show Place 8 for the fire at around 9:12 p.m.
Once on scene, they found a fully engulfed black 2012 Dodge Journey in the middle of the parking lot, about 75 feet from the entrance.
Police reports indicate that firefighters were able to get the vehicle out rather quickly.
The vehicle’s owner told officers she had used a remote start on her key fob, and when she looked outside five minutes later she saw that the SUV was on fire.
The vehicle was declared a total loss with estimated damages of $15,000.
