One person was injured during a fire that destroyed a garage and a vehicle inside of it on Peck Street on Friday night.
The Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 819 Peck St. at 7:54 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival fire crews encountered heavy fire showing from a garage with a vehicle inside. The fire from the garage was damaging the nearby home.
One individual was injured and was evaluated by Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service Paramedics. They self-transported to OSF St. Mary’s Hospital.
Preliminary damage is estimated to be $25,000 with the garage and vehicle inside a total loss.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental by Galesburg Fire Investigators.
