The district 205 board of education is hoping a new promotional video showcasing the district and Galesburg will help win over prospective residents.
Board members watched the 12 minute video that talked about what Galesburg has to offer future students and parents.
The video covered several topics including the educational opportunities for students as well as the future of the district with their master facilities plan.
Superintendent Bart Arthur tells WGIL besides using the video to attract new students to the district they’re hoping it will remind the community of what it has to offer.
“We’re in a tough financial state right now so hopefully they’ll see that we’ve got some grat programs and I really don’t want to lose those so are hope is that we can go to them to ask them for support financially or for their skills and all those things, so that’s out main goal.”
Arthur say the video will be on the district website and copies will be given to local relators to show future residents what they have to offer.
The board of education also approved a resolution to prepare the tentative budget and appropriation ordinance for the 2014/2015 fiscal year.
