James, Billy J.

Billy J. James won his battle with dementia and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2014. He passed away at the Marigold Nursing Home in Galesburg, Illinois.

Billy was born in Brashear, Missouri, December 21, 1933 to Oliver and Edna (McClay) James.

Billy is survived by his wife, F. Deane James. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Tribley of O’Fallon, Missouri, four children, a son, Russell James of Kirksville, Missouri, and three daughters, Debbie (Raymond) Sizemore of Kirksville, Missouri, Billy James of Colorado, and Bobbi Atkinson of Macomb, Illinois, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.

Billy retired from Maytag after 30 years as an electrical repairman. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the 24th Engineer Construction Group with the U. S. Army.

Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements. Cremation will be accorded with no visitations or services. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission or the Harbor Light Hospice, 1865 N Henderson St., Suite 10, Galesburg, Illinois.
