Boys Hoops

Head Coach Mike Reynolds and his Silver Streaks boys basketball team will begin the second round of Western Big 6 Conference games tonight when they host the Alleman Pioneers.  Galesburg whipped Alleman 64-38 in their first meeting back on December 6th, and the Pioneers have never recovered–losing all of their conference games so far. Galesburg enters the game at 18-and-6 overall, and 4-and-1 in conference play. We’ll have pregame coverage at about 7:06 tonight here on WGIL.

Elsewhere in the Western Big 6, league-leader Rock Island travels to Quincy, and United Township goes across town to play the Moline Maroons at Whartan Fieldhouse.

Other boys games around the area tonight include:

Knoxville at Elmwood
Abingdon-Avon at Peoria Heights
ROWVA at Wethersfield
United at West Central
Illini West at Monmouth-Roseville
Ridgewood at West Prairie

Girls Hoops

The Galesburg girls will swing back into action tomorrow afternoon when they host Peoria Manual. The Silver Streaks have a record to 15-and-11 following last night’s win over Quincy. Coach Evan Massey said on the WGIL post-game show that Manual has one very tall player that will be a test for his team.

Broadcast time is 1:10 tomorrow afternoon for the GHS girls game here on WGIL.
