Danforth, Robert W., Jr.

Robert W. “Bob” Danforth, Jr., 66, of Galesburg, died at 10:17 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at home.

He was born February 8, 1947 in Morrison, Ill., the son of Robert W. Sr. and Anna B. (Harris) Danforth.

He is survived by his step-father, Jack Soper of Galesburg; two sisters, Susan Anderson of Galesburg and Jackie (and Dan) Watson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Danforth Sr.; his mother, Anna B. Soper; and a brother, Michael.

Bob was a salesman for Wickes Buildings, House of Trucks, and most recently Cleary Buildings. He graduated from Monmouth High School and Blackhawk College. He attended Cameron Christian Church. Bob was an avid music fan, especially Jazz and R & B. He was a member of the Peoria Jazz Society and the Galesburg Corvette Club. He had lived in Monmouth for many years, before moving to Galesburg.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Greg Fitch will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
