It seems the residents of Illinois just can’t catch a break.
Between the hot, dry summer, the overly wet spring and the extremely cold winter, it’s no surprise Illinois is seeing a propane shortage.
In Galesburg and the surrounding areas using propane is extremely common, and West Central FS’s Jeff Montei tells the WGIL Morning News with the fluctuation of propane prices, they’re doing the best they can to keep customers in the loop about those changes.
“We’re trying the best we can to communicate before we put any fuel in [a customer's tank],” Montei said. “Most everybody is pretty understand. We’re just trying to help everybody out as much as possible.”
Montei says they haven’t had any issues getting LP to their customers, but that doesn’t mean they’re not in need of propane.
As for prices falling, Montei says it all depends on what temperatures do.
