Just after 5 o’clock, police reviewed the passenger manifest for the arriving train and located both 37-year old Brian Thomason and 32-year old Jerome Warner.
Thomason was travelling on a one way ticket from California while Warner was travelling from Denver, Colorado – both are considered source states for drug trafficking.
When officers introduced themselves to Thomason as part of the interdiction, he allegedly admitted to being in possession of a joint, but when asked to find it in his backpack, was unable to locate the substance.
At that point the K-9 Unit was brought in – which gave a positive alert. Five pounds of cannabis with a street value of more than $20-thousand was allegedly located inside Thomason’s blue travel bag.
Police also introduced themselves to Warner separately, but on the same train, when he allegedly immediately admitted to trafficking cannabis.
Eight vacuum sealed bags allegedly containing eight pounds of cannabis was located inside Warner’s bag with a street value of $33-thousand.
Both are facing possession and trafficking charges in connection with the incidents.
