Holloway, Rosetta

Rosetta Holloway, 96, of Farmington, IL, passed away Saturday February 8, 2014 at the Farmington Country Manor Farmington, IL.  She was born June 14, 1917, in Brazil, IA, the daughter of George Charles and Lera Esther Whalen Lawton.  She married Gerald Keith Holloway on September 17, 1937 in Burlington, IA; he preceded her on October 28, 1978.

She is survived by one niece Barbara J Plack (Bob Anderson) of Peoria, IL; one nephew Don  Frakes (Carol Christman) of The Villages, FL; great niece Debbie Ludolph of Buffalo Grove, IL great nephews Mike (Juli) Plack of Kickapoo, IL and Dan (Jennifer) Frakes of Los Altos, CA; one brother in law Roy Dean Holloway of Galesburg, IL; great great nephews Jacob Ludolph, Logan Plack, Hayden Plack, great great nieces Elena and Sofia Frakes.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, sister Evaughn (Robbie) Frakes, sisters in law Rose Holloway and Doris Holloway, nephew Robert Plack and niece Shirley Frakes.

She graduated Galesburg High School in 1936.  She was a member of the Avon Nursing Home Auxiliary, and the Spoon River Sister Club.  She helped with the Red Cross.  She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church.  She worked at Meadow Gold Dairy.  She loved to be able to help others and care for them.

Funeral service will be Saturday February 15, 2014, 11:00 am at Corman Memorial Home Avon, IL.  Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am.  Burial will be in the Avon Cemetery, Avon, IL.  Memorials may be made to the Farmington Country Manor and or Hospice Compasus of Peoria, IL.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.cormanmh.com.  Corman Memorial Home Avon, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
