It’s the end of the road for the Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team tonight, as they’ll play their regular season finale at United Township. The Streaks enter the game with a record of 16-13 overall, and 4-5 in Western Big 6 Conference play. Broadcast time is 6:40 with Jim Wyman and Erik Gibson here on WGIL. Following tonight’s game, coach Evan Massey’s team will be off until Wednesday, when they meet Alleman at the Geneseo Regional.

Some big games will be played tonight for the team’s remaining at the end of this week’s class 1A and 2A Regional Tournaments. At Farmington, the Knoxville Lady Bullets will battle Peoria Christian for the title. At Lewistown, the A-Town Tornados will vie for the trophy against the host team. And at Wethersfield, the Ridgewood girls will gun for the upset as they play the top-rated team in the state–the Annawan Bravettes. Ridgewood advanced to the title game with last night’s 49-45 win over Stark County.

Area boys teams are still trying to patch their schedules together following the numerous postponements in recent weeks. A couple of makeup games are planned tonight, including:

ROWVA at Annawan
Williamsfield at West Prairie

The Galesburg boys will have just one game this weekend, as they travel to Quincy tomorrow night.

The Carl Sandburg Chargers will try to continue their recent winning ways, as the men’s and women’s teams will play at Black Hawk College this evening.

Knox is off until Saturday, when the Fire will host Beloit.
