Sandburg Mall Manager Beth DeJaynes confirms that the Regis hair salon in the mall will be closing at the end of the month.
DeJaynes says the corporate parent of Regis notified her that it will be terminating its lease effective at that time. She says she has no further information about the closure. The company says the details about the closure are confidential, but the stylists are being transferred to the SmartStyle Salon at the Galesburg Wal-Mart.
Minneapolis-based Regis, according to its website, either owns or has interest in 9,700 stores around the world, and also operates salons under such names as SuperCuts, MasterCuts, and Smart Style, among others.
The news comes less than a week after Kirlin’s Hallmark announced it would be closing later this spring, and after Sears announced it would be closing its Sandburg Mall store in mid-May.
