Chocolate brownies, popcorn, ice cream and chili. With all that chocolaty goodness in one place it must mean one thing–the annual Chocolate Festival sponsored by the Galesburg Historical Society. The third floor of the Galesburg Antique Mall was changed into an elegant setting with red tablecloths, flowers and even some classical cello music.
Peoria resident Nancy Smith tells WGIL she doesn’t care how far or long it takes to get there it’s worth it for one reason.
“It’s chocolate, all you can eat chocolate.”
and when it comes to the best thing she’s ever tasted.
“They had a white chocolate brownie last year that was really good, I haven’t seen it here.”
Smith says, when it comes to a day filled with all you can eat chocolate there’s only one way to approach the day–slowly.
The Chocolate Festival also came with a classic chocolate fountain with apples, marshmallows, strawberries and a number of other items for dipping.
