Search for Man Stranded in Fulton County Flood Waters

WGIL Newsroom . Local News 391

A search is expected to continue today in Fulton County for a man who is now believed to be missing after being reported as stranded in some flood waters.

The Fulton County Sheriffs Department says it received a report around 7:20 last night of a man stranded in flood waters at Bernadotte.

Deputies say they believe a 66-year-old man whose name was not released had been in a boat in flood waters in that area near the Spoon River, and that the boat had capsized.

A crew involving people from the Ipava, Lewistown, and Copperas Creek Fire Departments, including a dive team, responded and weren’t able to find the man.

They say the search will continue during the daytime hours today.
