Fox-Allen, Theresa L.

Theresa L. Fox-Allen, 57, of Galesburg, died 1:40 A.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at her home.

She was born April 7, 1956 at Galesburg the daughter of William H. and Mary Katheryn (Stull) Fox. She was raised and educated in Alexis and graduated from Alexis High School in 1974.

Theresa married Tim R. Allen in Killeen, Texas on May 28, 1993 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2003.

Theresa served in the U.S. Army from August 22, 1984 until February 27, 1990 where she served with the transportation unit in Fort Sill, OK and Kaiserslautern, Germany. During Theresa’s enlistment she received numerous medals including the Army Service Ribbon, Army Accommodation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge Rifle M-16. Theresa was known to help anyone in need and went above and beyond for those she loved. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.

She first worked at Galesburg Research Mental Health Hospital of Galesburg until entering the U.S. Army. Upon her discharge from the Army and returning to the states she worked at Zellar Mental Health in Peoria along with other various occupations and has worked at Countryside Realtors in Galesburg since 2013.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Lindy (Eric) Shaw of Aledo and Jenifer (Trent) Simkins of Alexis, two sons, Jeremy (Michelle) O’Brien of Gatesville, TX and Nathaniel (Megan) Allen of Alexis, father, William H. Fox of North Henderson, five grandchildren, Brea and Kealy Simkins, Wayne O’Brien, Timothy Shaw and Carter Ryan and baby Allen due in July 2014, one sister, Deborah (Brian) Dillbeck of Alexis, two brothers, Richard (Tina) Fox of Alexis and Michael (Kelly) Fox of North Henderson along with aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband and grandparents Loren and Florence Fox and Clarence and Mary Stull.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis with Rev. Beth Hamilton of Zion Lutheran Church. Cremation will be accorded following the service and interment of ashes will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson at a later date. Her family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday. Memorials may be left to be designated later. Online condolences may be left at hooverhall.com
