Blust, Shirley G.

Shirley G. Blust, 86, of Knoxville, Ill. died at 12:10 pm Saturday March 1, 2014 in Seminary Manor Nursing Home.

She was born August 2, 1927 in Delong, Ill. the daughter of Harry and Edna Burnett Cramer. She married Wilbur Don Blust on July 30, 1955 in Knoxville. He survives.

Also surviving is her son, Michael D. (Janet) Landon of Galesburg, Ill.; one sister, Gwen King of Shelbyville, Ill.; one grandson, Brendon (Arial) of Eagleville, Pa. and one granddaughter, Kris (John) Pettit of Geneva, Ill. and five great grandchildren, Samuel and Jacob Landon, John Christian, Joshua and Joseph Pettit. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Junior, Charles, Marvin and Wendell Cramer, two sisters, Georgia Nichols and Lucille Dunn and one grandson, Michael Landon, Jr.

She worked for the Outboard Marine Corporation. She was raised and attended school in Abingdon and lived in Galesburg before moving to Knoxville in 1955. Shirley was known for her love and dedication to family. She was a caretaker and caregiver to all.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11 am Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Gordon Behrents Senior Center. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
