Warren, J. Francis

J. Francis Warren, 87, of Monmouth, died 6:45, P.M. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth.

He was born March 20, 1926 in Gibbs Missouri the son of Otha G. and Junie (Glasgow) Warren. He was reared and educated in Gibbs, MO, graduated from Brashears High School in 1943.

Francis married Dorothy Munson in Monmouth on July 18, 1953 and she died April 6, 1997.

He served with the United States Army during World War II from 1944-1946 stationed in the Philippines and Japan.

Francis worked at Western Auto, Max’s Auto Supply and Maple City NAPA before retiring in 1988. He worked on lawn equipment all those years.

He was a life member of the Monmouth VFW Post #2301.

Surviving is one sister, Irene Myers of Tucson, AZ, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.

Cremation has been accorded and memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Pastor Paul Lydic of the Gerlaw Christian Church. Interment of ashes with military honors will follow in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with his family and friends will be one hour prior to the memorial services at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth. Memorials may be given to Strom Center.
