Charlotte E. Gerald, 82, of Kirkwood, IL died at 8:10 A.M. Monday, March 3, 2014 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.
She was born December 28, 1931 in Cuba, IL, the daughter of Charles E. and Minnie V. (Poole) Bodenhamer. She was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1948.
Charlotte married Robert H. Gerald in Galesburg on June 19, 1954 and he passed away March 14, 2004.
Charlotte was a press operator at Admiral for several years.
She was a member of Countryside Bible Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and assisted with the nursery at the Monmouth Nazarene Church. She also assisted with the Manville Church Camp. She enjoyed working on bible quizzing. She was known for endearing quote, “Have a Good Day”.
Survivors include her children, Carol Gerald of Kirkwood, IL, David Gerald of Kirkwood, IL , Linda (Bill) Shelton of Kirkwood, IL, Tracey (Mike) Hackspacher of Ft. Worth TX., Roberta “Bobbi” (Tom) Schnetzler of Ocala, FL., and Sandy (Dan) Osborne of Kirkwood, IL. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Cromwell of LaMoille, IL. and Marilyn Davis of Spring Valley, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Bill Bodenhamer and sister, Irene Ecklund.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth with Rev. Ken Muck of Countryside Bible Church officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. Friends may call Friday, March 7, 2014 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
