Wayne E. Jackson, age 73 of Galesburg, died at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
He was born May 17, 1940 on the family farm in Beverley, IL. He was the fourth of twelve children, born to Leon H. and Zelma D. (Kendrick) Jackson. He married Barbara Johnson in Liberty, IL. Later he married Betty Thompson of Galesburg.
Wayne is survived by two daughters: Mary M. A’Hearn of Galesburg, IL and Dolly Good of Quincy, IL; five sons: Wayne E. (Paula) Jackson of Batchtown, IL, Duane (Debbie) Jackson and Stacey (Linda) Jackson both of Troy, MO, Joe (Kami) Jackson of Galesburg, IL, Donald W. Jackson of Quincy, IL, 26 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are 3 three sisters: Patricia (Clarence) Bishop of Monmouth, IL, Maybell (Ray) Ostrander of Augusta, IL, Doris (Charles) Swise of Canton, IL, six brothers: George (Betty) Jackson of Knoxville, IL, John (Jane) Jackson of Berwick, IL, Richard (Linda) Jackson of East Galesburg, IL, Kenneth (Sue) Jackson of Tennessee, Bob (Vicki) Jackson of Quincy, IL, and Terry (Lorma) Jackson of Rio, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Betty Chase and Janet Johnson, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, one nephew, and one grandchild.
Wayne worked at Galesburg Mallable for many years. He also worked at Aluminum Castings and farmed.
Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
