He carried his native Warren County, but in the end, it wasn’t enough to defeat a political veteran for a seat in the Illinois House.
Marshall Schrader lost to former Adams County Circuit Clerk Randy Frese Tuesday, 7,839 votes throughout the 94th District, to 3,411 votes. Schrader carried Warren County, while Frese carried Adams County, among others.
Schrader, who says he felt good despite the defeat, is an employee of the Galesburg Sanitary District. He says he ran a good, hard-fought campaign. Schrader says he believes Frese will serve the area well if elected.
Frese is looking to replace Jil Tracy, who gave up the seat because she ran for Lieutenant Governor alongside State Senator Kirk Dillard. There was no Democrat in the primary, but party faithful could slate one in June.
