Speaking Wednesday morning on Chicago’s WLS-TV, Bruce Rauner says he’s anticipating a “very, very tough” general election that’s expected to be one of the hardest fought and most expensive in the nation.
Rauner says Quinn is “failing us and we’re going to beat him this time.”
The Winnetka venture capitalist continued attacking Springfield politicians, saying he believes “we need to go in a fundamentally new direction.” He says the state needs to be run “more like a business to make it efficient, effective and transparent.”
Rauner won Tuesday’s four-way race for the GOP nomination.
Quinn has already launched an ad against Rauner, showing video clips of Rauner saying he wants to cut the minimum wage.
