Woman Accused Of Stealing Big Bucks From Gas Station

000000007322FA Henderson County woman faces serious felony charges for allegedly stealing what could be considered a significant amount of money from an area gas station.

Henderson County Sheriff Steve Haynes says 40-year-old Tonya Cook of Oquawka was arrested late yesterday morning on a charge of Theft Over 100-thousand dollars.

Haynes says the arrest came after investigators received a report of theft from the Day Break Gas Station in Oquawka.

Not many details have been released, but Haynes says Cook has been manager of the convenience store for about the last two and a half years. It’s not clear over what period time the theft took place.

Cook is being held in the Henderson County Jail pending future court proceedings.

Day Break is on South 8th Street in Oquawka.
