PARK RIDGE, Ill. (AP) — A Chicago hospital says six people are in stable condition after being treated for injuries following a train derailment.
Nick Przybyciel is a spokesman for Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. He says the hospital received six patients from Monday’s accident.
At Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, seven passengers were treated for minor “whiplash-type” injuries.
Spokeswoman Evonne Woloshyn says most of the injured passengers at the Park Ridge hospital had been released by 8:30 a.m. The rest were expected to be released later in the day.
The Blue Line train derailed around 3 a.m. as it pulled into the station at O’Hare International Airport.
The Chicago Fire Department says 32 people were transported to area hospitals. None of their injuries are considered life threatening.
