Zielke, Juanita W.

W. Juanita Zielke, 83, of Alexis, died 4:38 A.M. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She was born July 20, 1930 at Barren, Kentucky (Cave City), the daughter of Virgil and Dixie (Lee) Aubrey. She was raised and educated in Kentucky and Monmouth. She married John David Haynes. Juanita married Marion Zielke at Alexis on July 12, 1974 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2005. Juanita had worked at the Army Ammunition Plant in Galesburg, Glastex in Monmouth and FormFit Rodgers in Monmouth. In 1974 she started a day care in Alexis, which she operated for 30 years. She was a fan of the Alexis Cardinals and the St. Louis Cardinals and collected cardinal figures. She enjoyed family gathering, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and raising roses. She was an avid reader. She was a member of the Norwood Presbyterian Church. Those left to cherish her memory are four children, Sheila (James) McNally of Winona, MN, Ward (Jeannie) Haynes of Milan, IL, Deborha (Tim) Johnson of Knoxville, IL and Melody (Dan) Hall of Alexis, one sister, Jean (Sam) Creek of Alexis, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Connie Aubrey of House Springs, MO along with nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, Marion, son, John R. Haynes, granddaughter, Stacy Haynes, and brother, Charles Aubrey preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis with Rev. Perry Cooper. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Sunday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present for visitation from noon until the time of service.
