A Galesburg man accused of having unwanted sexual contact with a woman almost a month ago has entered his first plea in he case.
Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 22-year-old Brent Clark pleaded not guilty at an arraignment hearing yesterday to felony charges of Criminal Sexual Assault, Unlawful Restraint, and Criminal Damage to Property.
Clark was arrested March seventh, after police were called to a Pine Street home.
A victim told police she had been at the home overnight, and that Clark held her against her will and had unwanted sexual contact with her — all before allegedly fleeing the scene and stealing the victim’s cell phone.
Clark was arrested after trying to run from police officers starting at at Grand Avenue liquor store, but ending back on Pine Street.
Clark remains jailed on $250-thousand bond. He’s requested a trial by jury through Public Defender Karl Johnson, and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for May second.
