Ameren Restores Power After Storms

WGIL Newsroom . State News 127

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Ameren Illinois officials say crews have restored power to almost all of their customers who lose electricity during powerful storms.

The utility company says Friday that nearly 31,500 homes and businesses were in the dark at the height of Thursday’s bad weather.

About two-thirds of the outages took place Thursday evening.

The company says Illinois’ St. Louis suburbs and portions of Marion were the hardest hit by the storms, which dumped several inches of rain and brought high winds to the area.
