The Professionals Have The Westminster Dog Show…But We Have The Eastminster

WGIL Newsroom . Local News 243

It’s always fun to watch a dog show, either in person or on television.

But, what if you could enter your dog into a dog show, would you? If the answer is yes, then go no further than Sandburg Mall this Sunday.

The Knox County Humane Society is hosting their 8th annual Eastminster Dog Show, and is inviting anyone and everyone to come.

Knox County Humane Society’s Erin Buckmaster tells the WGIL Morning News they’re looking to use the money raised for a much needed fix to the shelter.

“We’re trying to pay for central air conditioning that we’re putting in throughout the building, we had to come up with a new furnace last fall because we were worried about whether or not it would last the winter and thank goodness we did,” says Buckmaster. “We had them put down a coil for central air, we had little units before, they were good but not great.”

Buckmaster says it will cost around $10-thousand to have the central air installed.

Registration for the event starts at noon on Sunday with the terrier group kicking off the show at 1:00 p.m.
