Edward Glenn Bartlett, 89 of Galesburg, Illinois passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. 

He was born on October 31, 1924 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Everett and Irene M. (Ryan) Bartlett. He married Julia V. Gillette on May 22, 1948 in Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2014.

Surviving are his children: Glenda W. (Glen) Boyd of Clifton, Tennessee, Stephen E.G. Bartlett of Lake of the Ozark, Missouri, Robert G. Bartlett of Galesburg, Illinois, Michael J. Bartlett of East Galesburg, Illinois, Donald P (Teresa) Bartlett of Knoxville, Tennessee; his grandchildren: Melody L. (Shawn) Junker, Jennifer L. (Robert) Kea, Mellissa (Keith) Dunn, William G. (Shannon) Boyd, Christina S. (Brian) Free, Stephanie Ballew, Michelle Bartlett, Ryan W. (Jennifer) Bartlett, Martha Ann Bartlett, Noah (Amanda) Bartlett, Matthew J. (Sarah) Bartlett, Scott M. (Kaylee) Bartlett, and Michael Bartlett; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou (Art) Mills of Abingdon, Illinois. He is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Robert L. Bartlett.

He served in the United States Army in 1946 and received the World War II Victory Medal. He owned and operated Glenn’s Radiator Service for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, fishing, hunting, and sports. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Galesburg, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Bishop Polay will officiate. Burial will take place at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg, Illinois where military rites will be conducted by the Galesburg American Legion Post #285 Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 4:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
