The Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Soccer team shut out Canton Saturday at home 2-0. Goals were scored by Kayla Butler at the 34th minute of the first half, and Makayla McGee in the 65th minute of the second half. The Streaks play again Tuesday against Western Big 6 conference foe Moline.


The Silver Streaks Boys Track team placed second overalll at the Moline Shipley Invitational Saturday, scoring a half point better than Rock Island to take second. United Township was meet champion. Galesburg’s Josh Eiker placed first in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, while the 4X200 Meter Relay Team (Merje Bokoyo, Eric Oliphant, Cody Wixforth, Josh Eiker) also placed first. Tevin Taylor also placed first in both the Pole Vault and the Long Jump.

The GHS Girls placed fourth at the Shipley Invitational Saturday. Sara Saey scored a first place win in the 800 Meter Run, while Cindy Ladner got first in the Long Jump.


Galesburg Silver Streaks Baseball fell in both games they played at the Streaks Invitational Saturday, losing to Alleman 7-2 and to United Township 7-0.

The GHS Silver Streaks Boys Tennis team took third at the Rock Island Red Tournament Saturday.

Carl Sandburg College split a double-header with Highland Saturday, losing game 1 3-1, while winning game 2 4-1.
Knox College split a double-header with Cornell Saturday, winning game 1 9-7, but losing game 2 13-10.

Sunday, Illinois College is at Monmouth College for a Double-Header, while Knox has a double-header at Cornell.
