Dickerson, William Oakley “Wild Bill”

William Oakley “Wild Bill” Dickerson, 87 of Roseville, IL passed away Wednesday April 9, 2014, 8:08 pm at the OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center Galesburg, IL.

He was born October 26, 1926 in Hannibal, MO the son of Charles Thomas and Georgia Gilmer Sitton Dickerson.  He married Mildred R. Parsons on July 5, 1947 in Hannibal, MO, she preceded him on April 4, 1996.

He is survived by one daughter Diana Livermore of New York; two sons Kenneth Dickerson of Avon, IL and Keith Dickerson of Roseville, IL; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great great grandson; three siblings Myrtle of Mendon, Ed of Hannibal, and Ann of Hannibal.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 infant daughter, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

He was born and raised in Hannibal, MO.  He served in the US Army during WWII in Germany.  He retired from Briggs in Abingdon, IL and worked with heavy equipment.  He loved to fish and woodwork.  He especially loved his family and spending time with them.

Graveside service will be Saturday April 12, 2014, 1:00 pm at the Shelbina Cemetery Shelbina, MO.  There will be no visitation.  Memorial may be made to the Roseville American Legion.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.cormanmh.com.  Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
