Knox County Circuit Court records indicate Judge Scott Shipplett yesterday approved a new Public Defender for 30-year-old Robert Walker. Karl Johnson had represented Walker, but Shipplett appointed Jim Harrell to the case, after Johnson reportedly cited a potential conflict of interest in representation.
Walker was arrested in March in the State of Tennessee. He’s accused of breaking into a home on New Years Day of 2013, and performing sexual acts with and on a young girl. The girl reportedly passed out twice, and sustained some other injuries.
Walker will make his first appearance in court with Harrell April 30th. In the meantime, he remains jailed in Knox County on $400,000 bond.
