Mary Martha Thierry, 91, the daughter of Ollie Thierry and Mattie Sherrill passed away April 17, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.She was born October 8, 1922 in Galesburg, Illinois. She attended Galesburg Public Schools and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1940. She worked at Doyle’s Gift Shop for 66 years.
Mary was devoted to her sister, Betty T. Howard of Indianapolis, IN and her brothers, Willard Thierry, Ollie (Mary) Thierry, Jr., and Theodore “Pete” Thierry all of Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her brothers, McKinley Thierry, George Thierry, and Forest Boaz.
She enjoyed sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, playing cards, working puzzles, and reading.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Pastor Jon Sibley will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to an education fund for Kristi and Olivia Wilder, c/o of F&M Bank. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
