The owner of the Best Western Prairie Inn says a driver from Minnesota was coming to the hotel to rest after a long haul after 9 p.m. Tuesday when the truck could not clear the eight-feet-high canopy, causing it to collapse.
The owner says no one was hurt, but there is a small bit of structural damage. Despite the hit, the owner tells WGIL the Best Western Prairie Inn is still open for business.
Galesburg Police were not made aware of the incident. The owner says he’s waiting for an insurance adjuster to arrive.
