Sandburg signings

Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg has had a good week in signing prospective student-athletes. The Chargers volleyball team will be strengthened by the addition of Abingdon-Avon High School’s Taylor Cudd. Cudd was a four-year starter, all- Prairieland Conference, and the 2013 Galesburg Register Mail player of the year.

The Chargers men’s basketball team is reloading after its run to the national tournament last month. Head Coach Ryan Twaddle will welcome three new players from outstanding high school teams. Joey Olden of Lincoln, along with De”Andre Alexander and Darius Millican of Springfield Lanphier will be coming on board for the Chargers next season. Alexander and Millican were starters for a Lions team that finished 27-2 last season, while Olden started for the Lincoln Railers–who finished second in the state in class 3A with a record of 34-3.
