HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Peyton Isaacson had two-run home runs in each of the games of a doubleheader against Rock Island for the Galesburg Silver Streaks Saturday. The Streaks beat Rock Island 9-4, and 4-3. Isaacson was also the winning pitcher in game 1 of the Western Big 6 Conference twinbill.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

Galesburg was on the losing end of both games of a doubleheader with Rock Island Saturday, getting routed 16-0 in game 1, and losing 6-3 in game 2. Becca Tharp was listed as the losing pitcher in both games. The Streaks are now 8-12 overall, and 2-4 in the Western Big 6 Conference. They play again tomorrow afternoon at East Peoria.

HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

Galesburg’s girls lost all three games they played at the Pekin Tournament, 2-0 to Peoria Christian, 6-0 to Pekin, and 5-0 to Limestone. They play again Tuesday at Rock Island.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Carl Sandburg College’s baseball team lost both games of an Arrowhead Conference doubleheader at home to Illinois Valley 5-4, and 2-0. Coach Jake Tenhouse says his team wasted two good pitching performances.
