Judy A. Ware, 71, of Monmouth passed away at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, IL.
Judy was born November 2, 1942 in Davis Co., Bloomfield, IA, she is the daughter of Harvey Franklin and Ruth Marcell (Bodkins) Craig. She was raised and educated in Ottumwa, IA graduating from Ottumwa High School in 1961.
Judy married William L. “Bill” “Buggsy” Ware in Ottumwa, IA on Jan. 7, 1962 and he survives.
Judy was the manager of the Monmouth American Legion for 16 years before retiring. She was of Christian faith and enjoyed yard work, flower gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Buggsy Ware of Monmouth; children, Samantha Ware-Mason of Monmouth, Sue A Ware-Weaver of Galva and Rusty Ware of Monmouth; 3 grandchildren, Jena Miller, Cody Mason and Zachary Almaguer; 2 sisters, Bonnie Stookesberry of Ottumwa, Dorothy Lemonds of Ottumwa; 2 brothers, Robert Craig of Ottumwa and David Craig of Des Moines, IA; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be 3:00 -5:00 pm., Saturday, May 10, 2014 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.
