A Galesburg manufacturer has been given tax credits from the state of Illinois after relocating from California.
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity says it has approved an incentive package for the company. Those monies are contingent on new jobs and capital investments in the Galesburg community.
Pegasus Manufacturing will be hiring at least 17 people in the area and specializes in precision parts for several manufacturers. According to a press release, Pegasus will be receiving an assistance package worth $262-thousand over 10 years.
The company will also receive 8,500 dollars for job training opportunities.
Pegasus has operated for 14 years and has a customer base across the nation, including Harley-Davidson, Apple, and BNSF Railway.
Governor Pat Quinn said the state is proud to help a “woman-owned” business.
Pegasus is already in operation in Galesburg and is continuing the hiring process.
