Clay, Richard Michael

Richard Michael “Mike” Clay, 44, of Galesburg died at 12:51 am Friday, May 9, 2014 in Methodist Medical Center Peoria, Ill.

He was born September 21, 1969 in Galesburg the son of Richard E. and Rhonda L. Kilby Clay. He married Michelle Gallagher.

He is survived by a son, Jordon Clay of Galesburg; two sisters, Erin L. (Kelly) Marfell of Galesburg and Catharine (Greg) Jordan of Munford, Tenn.; five nephews, Jaden, Christopher, Nathan, Dillon and Devon Marfell; two nieces, Kailey and Anna Jordan; his special friend, Chris Arguello and his caretakers, Randie Blew-Quigley, Holly Carver and Alesia Urbanix also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ronald and Norma Kilby and Earl and Frankie Clay.

Mike worked at Quickstop for over 30 years.  He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1988.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Rev. Norman Mendell will officiate.  Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
