Florella (Florie) J. Clifford, 81, of Knoxville, Illinois died peacefully Tuesday May 13, 2014 at the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born to the late Willard and Pauline Klinck, Sept. 11, 1932, in Galesburg, IL. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1950 and also attended ISU of Normal, IL. She married the late George Clifford in 1983 and they together lived in Phoenix, AZ. After retirement in 1996 she moved to Knoxville, IL.
Florella was an escrow agent where she worked in Arizona at the Title Company and Trans America.
Florella was an active member of the Disabled Veterans Association. She also attended First Presbyterian Church of Galesburg, IL. In Florella’s free time she enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and was a diehard fan. She also enjoyed reading and playing card games.
Florella is survived by her four children: Alice Arwood, of Knoxville, IL, Janet Arwood, Linda Arwood, and John Arwood, all of Arizona. She also is survived by her sister Deanie Jenkins (Harold) of Knoxville, IL, and her brother K.G. Klinck (Sandy) of Greensboro, GA. Florella had six grandchildren including Joanne Arwood, of Knoxville IL, and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death are her two sons, Willard and Walter Arwood.
The family is requesting that donations be made to OSF Hospice or the Knox County Nursing Home.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
