UPDATED 2:54pm Galesburg Police are releasing some details into a reported shooting that happened late last night that left one person injured.
Police say officers responded to a home in the 13-hundred block of East Knox Street for a shooting report after 11 pm. Officers say they noticed that an 18-year-old male in the lower apartment there had been shot in the leg.
Officers say the male was taken to OSF Saint Mary Medical Center to be treated for injuries, and they say he remains there.
No suspects are in custody, and officers say they don’t know who might have committed the shooting. An investigation continues, and anyone with information should call Galesburg Police, or the Galesburg-Area Crime Stoppers hotline.
Editor’s Note: Galesburg Police have identified the shooting victim, both in a press release, and in social media. As a matter of practice, WGIL News does not identify shooting victims unless they are deceased. That’s why we are not using the victim’s name either on the air, or online.
