Nancy J. May, age 66, of Jacksonville, Florida formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 5:20 P.M. at the Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was born on January 8, 1948, the daughter of Harold and Juanita Abbott Smith. She married Leonard B. May on November 3, 1967 in Jacksonville, Florida. Her husband survives of Jacksonville, Florida.
Surviving are her children: Leonard B. (Alisa) May, Jr. of Fisher, Illinois, Bill A. May of Victoria, Illinois, and Catrina S. Gooley of Abingdon, Illinois; grandchildren: Ashley May, Kaitlynn Cuevas, Kellen May, Lexie May, Allisyn May, Lizzy May, Melonie May, Heather May, Kristi May, Carter May , Alyssa Gooley, Ayrika Gooley, and Felicity Norvell; Her mother, Juanita Smith of Jacksonville, Florida; her brothers and sisters, Clyde (Joan) Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, Mike Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, Wayne Smith of Milan, Georgia, David (Cathy) Smith of Milan, Georgia, Doug (Pam) Smith of Newport News, Virginia, Alice (Paul) Stephens of Jacksonville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Randy.
She worked for the former Maytag of Galesburg, Illinois as the lead forklift operator, retiring after 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Cremation Rites were accorded in Jacksonville, Florida. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 9, 2014, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois.
