Silas Willard Parents to Get Questions Answered Tomorrow

WGIL Newsroom . Local News 221

205logobwParents of students who attend Silas Willard Elementary School in Galesburg will get the chance to have their questions about the coming school year answered during a meeting, tomorrow.

District 205 Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations David Black told the District 205 Board Building Committee the meeting is tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 at Silas

Willard, just to address any further concerns arising because of construction that will start soon on a new school there.

Black says apparently there appears to be some miscommunication because of the construction.

“Mostly just to assure them that they’re going to school there because I continue to get questions: ‘where are they going to school next year?’ so just to talk about the basics and if we get any questions that they’ve got as well,” says Black.

The note came as the Building Committee discussed scenarios for parking and student pick-up and drop-off at the school while construction is going on in the next school year.

Black says that will likely be discussed at the meeting tomorrow, but there may be less opportunities for parking, even as some will be made available in the former Giant Foods parking lot nearby.
