The Galesburg High School girls softball team’s season ended on Tuesday as the Silver Streaks fell to Geneseo 11-1 in five innings in the Class 3A Regional semi-final game at Dunlap. Galesburg ends the season with a 15-21 record. Geneseo is now 26-7. Galesburg scored its lone run in the top of the first inning. The 15 wins this season were the most wins for Galesburg softball since 2004.
Galva-Williamsfield’s girls softball team’s season ended on Tuesday as the Bombers lost to Serena 3-2 in 12 innings. Serena scored the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning.
The Galesburg High School baseball team opens post-season play tonight at 7:00 p.m. against Geneseo in the Class 3A Regional at Illinois Valley High School in Chillocothe. The Streaks enter tournament play with a 20-13 record. Geneseo is 27-7-1. Galesburg’s baseball team has won 20 games five years in a row. Junior Peyton Issacson gets the start for the Silver Streaks tonight. Galesburg is seeded number three in the regional. Geneseo is seeded third. The winner of the Galesburg/Geneseo game will play the winner of the Alleman/IVC game on Saturday morning at 11:00 for the regional championship. Alleman is the number one seed.
The Ridgewood boys baseball team plays Galva-Williamsfield tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the 1A sectional semi-finals at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.
