A Galesburg tradition once again kicked off Wednesday in Park Plaza downtown.
Cafe in the Park started it’s 19th year with the musical stylings of Charlie Hayes and food from the Pizza House.
The Galesburg Business Association puts on Cafe in the Park and the group’s Bill Morris says the format for this year’s event will be the same as the past saying “if it’s not broken don’t fix it.”
Morris tells WGIL there’s a reason why people come back year after year for Cafe in the Park.
“For one thing, it’s been going on for a while,” says Morris. “You can come down here and sit for free, you don’t really have to buy any food. So you can come down here and listen to music. It’s provided for free courtesy of the Galesburg Business Association and our sponsors each week.”
Morris does say that over the years, they’ve heard people say they wish more shade was provided, Morris says a plan is in the works to do something to fix that issue.
Cafe in the Park goes for 15 weeks and will be every Wednesday at Park Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
