Worthington, Frank A.

Frank A. “Scrooge” Worthington of Walnut Grove, IL passed away Saturday May 24, 2014, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.

He was born April 12, 1933 in Walnut Grove, IL the son of John A. and Mable M. Cross Worthington. He married Dorothy Quigle on January 15 1957 in Disco, IL, she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Roseville, IL; three son Lee (Linda) Worthington of Prairie City, IL, Ken Worthington of Abingdon, IL, and Don (Jacquie) Worthington of Champaign, IL; 5 grandchildren; four siblings Joyce Brewer of Galesburg, IL, Bernadine (Lou) Bankes of Willow Park, TX, Linda Luper of Springfield, IL and Lyle (Kathleen) Worthington of Little York, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.

He farmed his entire life in the Walnut Grove area. He served in the US Army from 1954-1956. He was a member of Bushnell Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding and making things. Frank’s quote “There’s a right way and a wrong way and then there is Frank’s way”.

Funeral service will be Thursday May 29, 2014, 10:30 am at Corman Memorial Home, Avon, IL, family will receive friends Wednesday eve May 28, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Corman’s Avon, IL. Burial will be in the Prairie City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove Church and or St. Jude’s. Please sign the online guestbook at www.cormanmh.com.
