The City of Galesburg’s Economic Development Director isn’t leaving town when his position is eliminated.
Cesar Suarez says in a press release he will become the new operations manager at a business he promoted a lot during his time working for the city — Intellihot Green Technologies.
Suarez has been with the city for around seven years, but the economic development department which has been under controversy in recent months is being merged with the Galesburg Regional Economic Development Association, in favor of a new public-private economic development partnership being spearheaded by Mayor John Pritchard.
Suarez says in the press release he’s “looking forward to the challenge” of working for the tankless water heater manufacturer based at the Sustainable Business Center, and he describes the business as “innovative.”
Intellihot’s CEO says in the press release he’s known Suarez since the company came to Galesburg, and thinks he’ll be a great edition.
Suarez starts in his new job June 30, once he leaves the Economic Development Department.
